We are talking about my latest food obsession – Trader Joe’s “Garlic Shiitake Green Beans”.

Trader Joe's garlic shiitake green beans reveiw.

As we travel around the US, I am always looking for Trader Joe’s for some of my favorite items; lately, I have made sure to grab at least three packs of these.

I’m not sure how long Trader Joe’s has been carrying these amazing green beans, but they’re a recent discovery for me, and I gotta say, they’ve quickly become my go-to.

So, what’s the deal with these bad boys? Well, they are tender and packed with flavor from garlic and shiitake mushrooms. The texture of these green beans is perfect—not too mushy like some frozen green beans can be.

But here’s the best part: they’re a breeze to whip up. Just toss ’em in a microwave-safe dish, zap ’em for a few minutes, and boom! Dinner is served.

I like the simplicity of preparing food for those days when we drove for hours to our destination.

And at $2.69 a pack, they won’t break the bank. It’s like getting gourmet taste on a fast food budget.

Oh, and did I mention they’re vegan? Yup, that’s right—good for you, good for the planet, and good for the animals. It’s a win-win-win situation.

So, whether you’re a veggie enthusiast, a busy bee looking for a quick meal, or just someone who loves good food, do yourself a favor and give Trader Joe’s Garlic Shiitake Green Beans a try. Trust me, your taste buds will thank you!

It’s the simple things in life that create wonderful moments. There were moments where I stopped and said to myself, “These are so good!”

Simple Ingredients List

  • GREEN BEANS
  • GARLIC SHIITAKE SAUCE (SHIITAKE SAUCE [SOY SAUCE {BRINE (WATER, SALT), SOYBEAN, MILLET, SORGHUM, BLACK RICE, WATER, SUGAR}, SUGAR, SHIITAKE MUSHROOM, WATER, TAPIOCA STARCH, SALT], GARLIC, WATER, SOYBEAN OIL, BLACK PEPPER, SALT).

Simple Heating Instructions

From the package, heat from frozen:

Stove Top: Pour desired amount in a skillet and sauté over medium heat for 4 minutes, then cover. Increase heat to high, sauté for 1 additional minute or until heated through, and serve

Microwave (my preference): Microwave heat times may vary depending on oven wattage. Pour the desired amount in a microwave-safe dish and cover. Heat on high for 4 minutes, uncover, and stir. Continue heating for 1 additional minute or until heated through, and serve.

Versatility

These green beans are simple and blissful. You can serve it as the main dish, as a side dish, or you can stir fry some pan-fried tofu or mince into it.

Portion Size

Per package, it’s about 2.5 servings per container. I agree with the serving size.

If you are eating the green beans as the main course with rice for a meal, you may be able to eat 2.5 servings. But if it is served as a side dish, the size of the package is perfect for 2 vegan people like us.
