Vegan Bulgogi Review: Bobmoos Korean Spicy Bulgogi

If you’re on the hunt for a flavorful and satisfying vegan bulgogi, the 100% Plant-Based Bobmoos Korean Spicy Bulgogi might just be what you’re looking for.

After trying it myself, I can confidently say it’s a great addition to any vegan’s kitchen, especially for those missing the taste of Korean BBQ.

I will share my detailed Bobmoos Korean BBQ review.

Taste and Texture of Vegan Bulgogi

The taste was spot on!

The vegan bulgogi was perfectly flavored, bringing the right balance of sweet, savory, and spicy.

It reminded me of the beef BBQ strips I used to enjoy at Korean BBQ restaurants before going vegan.

While it has a nice kick, it’s not overwhelmingly spicy, making it perfect when paired with steamed rice.

If you’re familiar with Trader Joe’s Beefless Bulgogi, you’ll find that Bobmoos offers a similar texture, which is impressively beef-like.

The difference? Bobmoos vegan bulgogi brings a spicy flavor twist that makes it stand out.

Cooking Experience

Cooking it was easy.

I opted to pan-fry the bulgogi slices, one of the three cooking methods suggested (pan-fry, microwave, or air fryer).

To elevate the dish, I sautéed some sliced onions before adding the bulgogi.

I avoided pouring in the extra sauce to keep the pan-fry method intact.

However, the natural liquid from the beef slices caramelized and burnt a bit at the bottom, so keep in mind that cleanup might be tricky depending on your pan.

Despite that minor hiccup, the taste was incredible!

Perfect Pairing

For the perfect meal, I served the vegan bulgogi with steamed broccoli and vegan kimchi.

It was a hit for both my husband and me, making it a great choice for a flavorful plant-based dinner.

Where to Buy Bobmoos Korean Spicy Bulgogi

I bought this pack at H Mart in Walnut, California, for $4.99, and honestly, I think it’s worth the price.

While Trader Joe’s Beefless Bulgogi is more economical, Bobmoos vegan beef alternative bulgogi brings an exciting spicy flavor that’s a nice change from the traditional taste.

However, the portion is just a bit more than one person can eat in one sitting but might not be quite enough for two unless you load up on side dishes.

Final Thoughts

I would rate Bobmoos Korean Spicy Bulgogi an 8 out of 10.

The flavor is traditional yet bold, and the texture is spot on for a vegan alternative to beef.

I do wish the portion size was a bit larger, or the price a little lower, but overall, I’ll definitely buy it again.
